Letter to Parents
Dear Prospective Parents,
Selecting the right child care provider is often a stressful process. As a mother myself, I know how important it is to get to know the people who would be caring for your child. With this in mind, let me share with you my experience and my fulfilling journey in child day care.
I have over 25 years of experience working with children and families. As a psychology major I became very intrigued by human development and the impact of early care on the outcome and success of individuals in adulthood. Upon graduation, I sought out careers that would allow me to explore this passion. I began my career as a group counselor in group homes for adolescents and as a family advocate for the Head Start preschool program.
After the birth of my son, I wanted to continue my passion for working with children and families while parenting my own children. I desired to create an environment that would provide children a happy, loving, educational home away from home. I envisioned a place that would provide the same high quality of care I would want for my own children. Family child care was a perfect fit and Temescal Tots was the result!
Temescal Tots enabled me to continue doing what I love while including my own children as well. I became a licensed family child care provider and have been nurturing and guiding infants and toddlers through their developmental stages since 1996. I am now the proud parent of a 21 year old (music producer/ DJ pursuing a career in the music industry) and 19 year old (now a student at Denison University)! I am also enthusiastically looking forward to many years of continued service to the children and families of my community.
I received a BA in Psychology, concentration in personality development, from California State University, Hayward in 1994. I completed 18 units, post baccalaureate, in early childhood education at San Francisco State University. I have also completed over 50 professional growth hours in early childhood education. I am also a member of the National Association of Family Child Care (NAFCC).
“Your Child’s Home Away From Home” is more than just a slogan to me. Instead, it reflects the spirit with which I created, and have operated, Temescal Tots. I welcome the opportunity to meet with you and have you tour our facilities.
Owner, Temescal Tots
